Für die Compilation "Geschmeidig", die eine Zusammenstellung ruhiger, elektronischer Musik beinhaltet, war das Briefing, eine visuelle Sprache zu entwickeln, die das Thema "Geschmeidig" umsetzt. Für den Auftraggeber handelte es sich dabei um eine Stimmung die in Richtung "romantisch" geht; Kamin, guter Wein, nette Gesellschaft, weit weg vom Streß und Alltag. Da der Kunde mit diesem Produkt keinen direkten Mitbewerber hatte, konnten wir ziemlich frei an die Umsetzung gehen. Was ist "Geschmeidig"? Was fühlt sich geschmeidig an? Was hat eine geschmeidige Anmutung? Die üblichen Rückschlüsse zu dem Begriff sind "Stofflichkeit - Samt" oder "stimmungsgeladene erotische Fotografie von nackter Haut" - Sinnlichkeit. Diesen Weg fanden wir aber zu direkt und einfach - auch wenn der Kunde sicher daran als erstes gedacht hatte. √		For the compilation, 'Geschmeidig', which comprises a collection of quiet, electronic music, the brief was to develop a visual language rendering the theme, "Smooth". For the client this meant an atmosphere that went in the direction of "romance": a fireplace, good wine, nice company, far away from stress and daily life. Since the client had no direct competitor with this product, we were able to get on with the rendering quite freely. What is 'Smooth'? What feels smooth? What has a smooth appearance? The usual conclusions around the concept are materiality - velvet or atmospherically charged erotic photography of naked skin - sensuality. We found this path too direct and simple, though - despite the client having first thought of it. √

Wir entwickelten zusammen mit der Künstlerin Stepha Schede eine Bildsprache die auf 2 verschiedenen Ebenen funktioniert. Die direkt sichtbare, und, beim näher Betrachten, die eigentliche. Strichzeichnungen die lazive Frauenbeine zeigen... aber irgendwas stimmt da nicht. Beim Betrachter entsteht ein eigenartiges Gefühl der Unstimmigkeit. Und bei der näheren Betrachtung der Zeichnung stellt sich heraus, daß die Strumpfhose, die eigentlich so schön flauschig aussah, sich aus kleinen Fingern zusammensetzt. Oder die feine Rippunterhose aus denen organische Objekte sich winden, Algen oder ähnliches. Feucht und glitschig. Dadurch stören wir die oberflächige Geschmeidigkeit und fordern den Betrachter auf sich näher mit Dingen zu beschäftigen - ins Detail zu schauen. Für die Serie konstruierten wir eine Schrift die 3 verschiedene Grundebenen und Längen hat. Durch die unterschiedliche Tastaturbelegung fängt die Schrift an zu hüpfen. Ihre Konstruktion ist nur oberflächig "Geschmeidig"... für die 2te Compilation haben wir sie dann, um sie mehr in das Artwork zu integrieren, von Hand gezeichnet. √		We developed together with the artist, Stepha Schede, a pictorial language that operated on two different levels: the directly visible; and on closer inspection, the actual. Sketch drawings that show lascivious women's legs...but something isn't quite right. A peculiar feeling of discrepancy fills the onlooker. And on closer inspection of the drawing it comes to light that the tights, which actually appeared so beautifully soft, are made out of small fingers. Or the fine ribbed underwear out of which organic objects writhe, algae or something similar. Moist and slippery. By this we interrupt the smoothness on the surface and demand that the onlooker deal more closely with things, that they look at it in detail. For the series we formulated a typeface with three different basic levels and lengths. Through the different keyboard assignment the writing begins to hop. Its construction is only "Smooth" on the surface. For the second compilation we then drew it by hand in order to integrate it more into the artwork. √
